Job Description

Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for all facets of the revenue cycle which includes but not limited to billing, coding, handling incoming payments, calculating patient intake costs and tracking accounts receivable to ensure accuracy. May also be assigned to special projects and must demonstrate a sincere dedication and loyalty to the mission, vision and core values of BRMC.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
Patient Information Collection:
Collects and verifies patient information such as insurance coverage and demographics. Updates EHR as needed with new information.
Patient Insurance Verification:
Confirm insurances. Validate authorizations and plan's benefits and limits. Obtain copays, deductibles, and any Out of Pocket expenses and non-covered expenses. Communicate with patients to ensure understanding of insurance coverage for upcoming appointments. Review coding on claims for accuracy and specification. Work with providers to ensure proper and prompt billing and clean encounters. Prepare and/or review monthly billing statements. Process payments from insurance companies and patients. Research and correct insurance denials. Review and resolution of medical A/R - including contacting patients for payments, negotiating payment arrangements, sending accounts to collections. Stay current on all coding and billing regulations. Follow the No Surprise Act requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Starting Compensation Range :
$18.98 - $21.94
