The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Medical Collections to work in Miami, FL. The Senior Manager, Medical Collections serves as liaison between the clinical departments assigned and department leaders, faculty physicians, and department chairs. The Senior Manager, Medical Collections utilizes information contained within billing operations to identify opportunities and articulates action plans for clinic department leaders with the goal of optimizing revenue and minimizing medical claim delays and denials.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Trains, oversees, and mentors collection staff and ensures collection activities occur in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborates with other managers to improve staffing and work prioritization. Prepares statistical reports, procedures, and systems to improve collection functions. Audits problem accounts and resolves any issues. Meets periodically with department leadership to discuss issues and improvements in regards to billing and collection activities. Reviews, processes, and approves billing adjustments, refunds, and transfers. Prepares department and individual performance reports. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required

Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness. -
Organizational Development:
Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
Financial Oversight:
Knowledge of financial operations and management.
Team Leadership:
Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
