About Glacier Hills Credit Union At Glacier Hills Credit Union, we love to help people. Position Overview The Collector 1 participates in maintaining a financially sound loan portfolio through early delinquency control. Methods to accomplish this include, but are not limited to: phone calls, collection letters, and in-person interviews. This individual recommends further action on accounts as deemed necessary (including but not limited to: repossession, legal action, foreclosure or referral to a collection agency). Key Duties and Responsibilities Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, know Wisconsin Consumer Act. Establish and maintain efficient working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and members Contact members to discuss the circumstances of their delinquency. Discuss repayment options to resolve delinquency, suggest availability of financial counseling, and inform them of potential legal action. Maintain records and prepare reports on actions taken to resolve delinquency. Accept payments and issue receipts for delinquent and charged off loans. Must follow the appropriate seller/servicer guidelines when working with a member whose loan has been sold to an investor (i.e. Freddie Mac, Federal Home Loan Bank, or USDA collector) Work with debt relief companies to restructure credit and repayment terms, to better secure collateral, attain equity position, or establish recourse to other borrower assets until the borrower is not in a collection status Upon receiving appropriate approval, arrange for repossession of collateral. The Collector 1 is responsible for the marketing and liquidation of repossessions. Oversee foreclosed properties with the assistance of the Facilities Manager for proper management and regular inspections as well as tax and insurance payments. Maintains ORE files and records and follow the appropriate seller/servicer guidelines. Required Knowledge and Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, percentages, rates, ratio and yields Collection experience is helpful

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
