Months Job Description :
The Medical Records Digitization Specialist is responsible for preparing, scanning, indexing, organizing, and quality-checking paper medical records for conversion to electronic format. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy while handling sensitive health information. The position will support document management and archiving activities in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare paper medical records for digitization and electronic storage. Scan, index, organize, and maintain electronic medical records. Perform quality assurance reviews to verify the accuracy, completeness, and legibility of scanned documents. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of sensitive health information. Follow applicable organizational, university, and HIPAA policies and procedures. Assist with document management, filing, retention, and archiving activities as needed. Identify and resolve scanning, indexing, or document quality issues. Maintain an organized and efficient workflow while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations. Perform other administrative and records-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience with document scanning, records management, data entry, medical records, or administrative support preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Ability to lift and move records/files weighing up to 25 pounds.
