Accounting Data Entry Clerk
Job Description
Position Summary The Seasonal Accounting Data Entry Clerk will assist the Accounting Department with the implementation and transition to new accounting software. This position will primarily be responsible for accurately entering, organizing, and verifying financial and accounting data to ensure information is properly transferred into the new system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets, and able to maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive data-entry tasks. Previous accounting experience is helpful but not required.
Duties and responsibilities include:
•Enter accounting and financial information into new accounting software accurately and efficiently. Assist with the transfer of historical and current accounting data into the new system. Review source documents and spreadsheets to ensure information is entered correctly. Compare entered information against original records and identify discrepancies or missing information. Assist the Accounting Department with organizing and maintaining financial records during the software transition. Enter and maintain data in spreadsheets, databases, and other accounting-related systems. Perform basic data verification and reconciliation as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, customer, and company information. Follow established accounting procedures and data-entry guidelines. Communicate any errors, inconsistencies, or questions to the Accounting Department. Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Department as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Gaming Must be registered with the Nevada Gaming Control Board Must be at least 21+ years of age. Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous data-entry, administrative, accounting, or office experience preferred but not required. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn and navigate new computer software. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training. Good communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Exercises strong internal customer service skills, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration. Must be able to work as a productive member of the Team. Demonstrates superior judgment, maturity, and can work with others in a responsible and productive manner. Proficiency with various accounting software systems. Sage Intact would be ideal. Proficiency (intermediate level) with computer software applications, (MS Word & Excel.) Must be able to utilize time efficiently and work independently. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality and consistency. Must be able to adapt to change in a positive manner and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected deadlines. Must be dependable, able to follow instruction, and respond well to feedback. Must adhere to all guidelines and policies established in the Employee Handbook. Moderate lifting required. Training Will receive initial & continued training of various types. Compensation/Benefits $18.00 / hour - starting wage Subject to a 90-day introductory review
