Insurance Verification Specialist We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to support our medical clinic operations from our corporate office. The ideal candidate will have experience verifying patient insurance benefits, communicating with insurance companies, and accurately documenting coverage information prior to patient visits. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Confirm coverage, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities Contact insurance companies through online portals and by phone as needed Determine whether referrals or prior authorizations are required Obtain and document authorization numbers and effective dates when applicable Accurately enter insurance and benefit information into the patient's chart Update patient insurance information and identify inactive or incorrect coverage Communicate insurance requirements or estimated patient responsibility to appropriate staff Work closely with front desk, billing, clinical, and scheduling teams Follow up on outstanding insurance verification or authorization issues Maintain accurate documentation while protecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA requirements Assist with other administrative or insurance-related duties as needed Qualifications Previous experience with insurance verification in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and basic insurance terminology Comfortable using insurance payer websites and portals Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good phone and written communication skills Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload Dependable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Basic computer proficiency required Preferred Experience Insurance verification: 1+ year Medical office: 1+ year eClinicalWorks (eCW): 1+ year preferred Prior authorization and referral experience is helpful Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm Work Location In person We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented team member who works well in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, communication, and supporting our patients and offices.
