Job Description

The candidate hired for this role will be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,500.00. Company Profile National Imaging Specialists is an established independent radiology practice operating out of Carrollwood and Pinellas Park. National Imaging Specialists is a quality-centric, specialty radiology practice offering MRI, CT, and PET-CT imaging services, and we have proudly served our surrounding communities for the past 20 years. We serve a diverse array of clients including physician offices, research clinics, and personal injury firms. As a growing practice, National Imaging Specialists is looking for an energetic Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our team.
Insurance Authorization Specialist Roles & Responsibilities:
Obtain relevant information to initiate and coordinate the authorization/pre-certification process between the referring physician, insurance carrier, and organization for timely scheduling Provide a positive patient experience by assisting patients with any questions they may have regarding their upcoming exam and by educating them on what they should expect on the date of their exam Maintain complete and accurate records of the the patient's demographic information by entering detailed notes related to the procedure, benefits, and authorization into the EMR Responsible for compiling relevant information and documents for peer-to-peer reviews for timely resolution Assist in all patient check-in and check-out procedures Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Qualifications:
At least one year of experience working in a prior role where the candidate was required to obtain authorizations/pre-certifications for patients Prior knowledge of radiological procedures and terminology Strong aptitude with computers Detail-oriented Demonstrated ability to multi-task This role is not eligible for remote work. The hired candidate must be able to work out of both our Carrollwood and our Pinellas Park location, depending on the needs of the organization at the time.
