0 At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). The Medicare Specialist (Sales) is responsible for engaging prospective and existing members with Medicare sales and plan education, enrollment support, and ongoing customer service. This role serves as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking guidance on Medicare products and coverage options while ensuring a high-quality member experience. The position exists to drive new member enrollment and sales growth, support retention efforts, cross-selling and identifying additional coverage needs, and build trusted relationships through accurate product knowledge and effective communication. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Consult with and educate prospective and existing members on Medicare products, benefits, and coverage options through inbound and outbound calls Assess individual needs, recommend appropriate Medicare plans, and facilitate enrollments while delivering a high-quality customer experience Meet established production, retention, and performance goals Maintain accurate documentation of member interactions, sales activity, and enrollment activity within company systems Identify additional coverage needs and cross-selling opportunities while maintaining a member-focused approach Stay informed on Medicare guidelines, carrier products, and organizational procedures to ensure accurate communication and service deliveryQualifications Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Previous experience in Medicare sales, health insurance, customer service, or inside sales preferred Active health insurance license (or ability to obtain and maintain licensure as required) Demonstrated ability to meet sales, production, and enrollment goals Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skillsSkills:
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and explain Medicare products clearly Consultative sales skills with the ability to guide individuals toward appropriate coverage solutions Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage sensitive or confidential information professionally Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate documentation and enrollment processing Ability to consistently meet sales, production, quality, and performance expectationsTotal Rewards:
