The Student Success & Enrollment Specialist serves as the primary engine for student persistence and departmental efficiency within the Nursing and Health Occupations area. This role integrates specialized nursing admissions advising and accreditation data management with proactive academic coaching, including study skill development, course-specific support, and student engagement initiatives. This individual provides administrative support to the Director of Nursing and the Health Occupations Office Manager in various nursing department functions. Responsible for nursing admissions, maintaining accreditation data, and monitoring compliance requirements for faculty and students. The successful individual will have the ability to perform complex tasks, knowledge of basic academic skills and strategies, the ability to maintain detailed records, familiarity with online learning platforms, and a desire to help students overcome academic challenges. Candidates should have the patience to work with a wide variety of students, as well as a sense of humor and compassion. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing OR related Bachelor's Degree (Required) Minimum one year of related work experience in academic support or office administration (Required) Proven Experience using Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Power Point®) (Required) Proven Experience using Google Apps and video communication tools (i.e. Google Hangouts or Zoom) (Required) Bachelor's Science in Nursing (Preferred) Experience in academic support (Preferred) Experience working with low-income, first-generation and minority students (Preferred) Ability to learn and use Banner enterprise system (database) (Preferred) Essential Responsibilities (Critical) Assists students with the development of skills supporting nursing academic success. (Critical) Provides students with support in successful completion of nursing theory courses and attainment of clinical nursing skills. (Critical) Provides administrative support to department (students, staff, and faculty). Serves as the point of contact between departments/functions as appropriate in reporting information and issues; and collaborates with appropriate offices in preparing and sharing information for the ADN and PN nursing programs - i.e. records and registration, NMC admissions office, advising center. (Critical) Implements and maintains record keeping for new admissions, attrition, nursing board results, student files, student/instructor compliance information, tracking document, clinical contracts, and monitors out of sequence students with the Office Manager. (Critical) Plans, interprets, and processes ADN and PN admission prerequisites, admission data reports, policies and procedures for prospective students and current applicants. Coordinates automated computer processes - i.e. GPA, program changes, eligibility status, etc. (Critical) Admits qualified students into the ADN (generic and completion option) and PN programs by applying the admission criteria to screen applicant credentials and render appropriate admissions decisions for the nursing students, sends correspondence regarding admission, monitors eligibility and wait lists, mails welcome packets and organizes and participates in orientation. (Critical) Advises applicants and prospective students about the admissions and secondary nursing application process. (Critical) Maintains a clean, orderly environment for the students requiring assistance. (Critical) Create, update and maintain files as delegated by Director of Nursing and Allied Health (Critical) Respond to requests for information, exercising discretion in obtaining and providing factual and confidential information related to office and College operations. (Critical) Supports the admissions and nursing department by attending recruiting events, as needed. (Important) Office support functions- copy, scan, e-mail and file documents, use Microsoft and Google office programs, and answer multi-line telephones. (important) May be cross-trained to proctor nursing exams.
