Following Intake Specialist Duties :
Answering and returning calls made to our main office phone line. Calls would include communication with referral sources and clients/families trying to access services. Ability to communicate clearly by phone is one of the most important strengths needed for this position. Greeting clients as they enter the building. Requires high-level organizational skills. Daily communication and weekly status meeting with Clinical Director. Weekly staff meeting and documentation of meeting Monthly EHR chart audits and reports submitted to the Clinical Director. Contacting and screening clients requesting services. Completing Pre-screening for service eligibility Insurance eligibility checks: Verification of clients' insurance policies to determine if policy is active; verifying specific benefits. Uploading new intakes to EHR system within 24 hours of completing intakes. Coordinating client assignment and data-entry through our electronic medical record system. Requesting medical and prescription records Monthly Monitoring and Auditing EHR records Computer skills in MS Word, Excel and data-entry. Ability to speak Spanish a plus, not required. Must have reliable transportation. Shares in responsibility of opening and closing the office daily (M-F 9:00-4:00pm) The position will be responsible for facilitating intakes along with coordinating assessments and collecting all Admissions paperwork from families (i.e. Consents, financial paperwork, releases of information, payment etc.) as well as EHR chart generation for all new admits. Candidates for this position would need to be independent, fast learners with great flexibility. They would need to have a high attention-to-detail to understand client needs as well as our team members, therapist, and physician's schedules. This person will need to think quickly and solve problems on the spot for issues that arise in our community mental health office. Intake specialists need to be able to practice patience, compassion and understanding to connect with clients who often contact our agency in the middle of crisis situations. They would need to be able to maintain calm communication with clients and staff while still maintaining attention to detail and organization. This is a full-time, in person, position. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Driver's license and transportation Prefer candidate to have at least 2 years of Full-Time work experience working with persons with Persistent Mental Illness and Behavioral Health diagnosis.
