Salt Lake City, Utah Hybrid/Remote Option Available After Successful Completion of Training (3 months in-office), Based on Business Needs and Performance.- About Community Nursing Services (CNS): Community Nursing Services (CNS) is a leading provider of home health and hospice care across Utah, serving 90% of the state's population through 9 offices.
Position Overview:
The Pharmacy and Infusion Authorization Specialist plays a crucial role in the authorization process for Home Health and Hospice services. This position involves verifying insurance benefits, including Medicaid and Medicare, collaborating with clinical teams, and ensuring that our patients receive the appropriate care they need. This position offers a set schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential to work from home after completing training. Candidates must be based in Utah to attend meetings and training in person when necessary.- Potential for hybrid/remote work after successfully completing 3 months of in-office training.

Verify insurance benefits and pre-authorize in Pharmacy and Infusion IV services for patients. Work closely with clinical teams to ensure that care plans align with insurance requirements. Manage the authorization process for both Medicaid and Medicare patients, ensuring compliance with regulations. Communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and clinical teams to address any issues related to authorization and care. Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system. Assist with inquiries from patients and providers related to insurance coverage and authorization status.Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in insurance authorization or pre-authorization roles. Previous experience working with commercial insurance companies. In-depth knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance verification processes. Familiarity with Medicare Part D plans. Familiarity with ICD-10 and HCPC codes. Strong understanding of medical terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer data entry and experience with medical software. Detail-oriented with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
