Resume Cover letter References (minimum of three) Purpose of Position The International Admissions Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing international applicant documentation and issuing initial form I-20's in compliance with federal regulations. This position ensures accuracy and completeness of records within the admissions process and supports international students through pre-arrival requirements. Additionally, this role assists with residency determination in accordance with Texas law and institutional policy. Essential Functions Reviews, evaluates, and processes of international applicant documentation to determine eligibility for initial I-20 issuance. Ensures accuracy and completeness of student biological, academic, and financial information prior to I-20 creation. Issues initial I-20 in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for admitted F-1 students with compliance with federal regulations. Communicates with student applicants regarding status, required documentation, missing items, visa application procedures, and next steps in the I-20 visa process. Maintains detailed and accurate records of all documentation used for I-20 issuance to support compliance and audit readiness. Monitors I-20 queues and ensures timely processing in alignment with admissions deadlines and enrollment goals. Assist with internal and external audits, reporting, and documentation requests related to issuance of initial I-20's. Assists with residency determination by reviewing documentation and supporting classification processes in accordance with Texas law and institutional policy. Meet and counsel students on policies and procedures relating to visa application procedures and residency determination. Stays current on federal regulations related to SEVIS and initial I-20 issuance requirements and performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and two (2) years of experience in admissions, international education, or a related field, or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience issuing initial I-20s in higher education setting. Familiarity with SEVIS and F-1 visa regulations. Experience with residency determination processes in Texas. Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Experience working with Student Information Systems, document management systems, such as PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, and Slate CRM. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of federal regulations governing F-1 student visa processes and SEVIS requirements. Ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory requirements consistently. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing documentation and timelines. Ability to exercise independent judgment while adhering to statutory standards and institutional policy.
