Our facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and is a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center. We offer advanced surgical technology and support a wide range of specialties, allowing our physicians to deliver outstanding patient care. St. Francis Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring accurate verification of patient insurance coverage, obtaining required authorizations, communicating financial responsibilities, and supporting denial prevention efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, knowledge of insurance processes, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities prior to scheduled procedures. Obtain required prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications to ensure procedures are approved before the date of service. Communicate effectively with insurance companies, physician offices, and patients to resolve coverage issues and insurance discrepancies. Educate patients regarding estimated financial responsibility, including copays, deductibles, and non-covered services. Collaborate with scheduling, clinical, business office, and physician office staff to ensure all insurance requirements are met and procedures proceed as scheduled. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, authorization information, and insurance verification documentation within applicable systems. Monitor authorization and verification activities to help prevent insurance denials and reimbursement delays. Assist with the investigation and resolution of insurance-related denials, authorization discrepancies, and payer issues in collaboration with the billing team. Support smooth patient registration, check-in, and revenue cycle processes through timely and accurate insurance verification. Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned to support business office operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Previous experience in insurance verification, patient registration, medical billing, or revenue cycle operations required. Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and authorization requirements. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records and practice management systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center environment.
