Job Description

The Admission Specialist is responsible for providing outstanding customer service on all calls. Duties include answering calls, gathering detailed patient information, discussing available insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and payment arrangements. The Admission Specialist is also responsible for obtaining appropriate approvals, arranging pre-admission screening, scheduling time for admission, and arranging transportation as requested. Additional duties include but are not limited to accurate input of information into the electronic medical record, responding to web inquiries, working viable files and performing other duties as assigned. The Admission Specialist is also expected to maintain good working relationships with referral sources and referring to partnering facilities when patient is not appropriate for La Hacienda Treatment Center. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, and strong computer skills are required. Must be detail oriented and have accurate computer input skills. The ability to interact in a friendly and professional manner is required. Having an understanding of substance abuse is required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
