The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon. Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
AA Degree or Certification Course in Business Management/Office Technology or like industry or High school diploma.Minimum Experience:
A minimum of five years progressively responsible Executive assistant experience. Must be able to travel within the Region and State.License, Certification, Registration :
Valid State of Alaska Driver's License for local driving is required.Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Must possess excellent organization skills; ability to utilize standard office equipment. Must be able to record and maintain accurate minutes from meetings held in Administration and Board of Directors meeting. Yupik Speaker is preferred.Position Summary:
Provides administrative support primarily to the President/CEO and Corporate Board of Directors. Shall adhere to a signed confidentiality statement as provided by the Human Resources Department to YKHC employees.- Designing and implementing the process flow for installing, training, monitoring, supporting and servicing patients and care providers.
- Defining and implementing support and service procedures for third-parties, including physicians, and other patient care programs.
- Developing and implementing appropriate quality service metrics and reporting to ensure superior quality of service.
- Manage all hospital and patient care operations.
- Develops processes and instill values that create world-class customer care across a wide range of customer and client constituencies.
- Develops and streamline that claims process to achieve increased efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of claims processing.
- Evolve operational processes, metric, and reporting.
- Strengthen communication between Operations and the other departments to feedback customer comments and increase our understanding of market demands.
- Develop and motivate a patient/customer care team that delivers a quality customer experience.
- Plans, develops and initiates new programs and services.
- Responsible for assuring thorough and comprehensive communications on projects and progress.
- Determines the operational needs for supporting outstanding patient care and customer satisfaction.
- Confers with administrators and administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
- Provides support to the Administrators to assure any deficiencies are eliminated to facilities.
- Scale operations as needed, possible developing new departments, to meet the increasing demands of a successful high-growth transaction business.
- Formulates an overall budget for the hospital and makes final decisions of funds allocation and expenditures within the hospital.
- Oversees the daily operation of the Hospital organization and provides advice and direction to all program and department directors on general management issues, problem services and planning processes.
- Ensure there is comprehensive human resources program is place to effectively recruit, retain and develop personnel throughout the Hospital organization.
- Ensures compliance with all appropriate regulatory and accrediting bodies and regulations governing health care delivery including Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital, College of American Pathologist, and Occupational Safety and Health Act codes.
- Establishes and maintains contact with other regional services agencies, civic organizations, individual and professional groups, for the purpose of promoting an effective regional network of services and positive public relations.
- Is a participating member of the Governing Body and leads the Hospital Management Team (Executive Committee) in formulating plans, policies, and directives for the health programs for the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital.
- Promotes an understanding and supporting relationships between YKDRH and the YKHC and YKDRH Board of Directors.
- Represents Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital and Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation interest in local, state, Indian Health Services legislative efforts.
- Serves as coordinator and liaison with Alaska Area Native Health Services on policies, projects and technical assistance requests regarding hospital service delivery.
- Has final Fiduciary responsibility for Hospital Services.
- Oversees the Hospital housing programs including (87 units) and ensures effectively daily management and coordination of assignments, services, and adherence to policy by all residents in order to provide a positive living environment, optimal moral and good retention of staff.
