JOB OPPORTUNITY
- Rio Texas Executive Assistant - Episcopal Office Leadership & Ministry Support Support Conference Leadership, Strengthen Ministry and Make a Difference. Are you an experienced executive assistant who is organized, adaptable, and energized by supporting leaders and meaningful work? The Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and executive support within the Episcopal Office and will work directly with the Assistant to the Bishop and Chief of Staff . This is an opportunity for a highly capable professional who enjoys being at the center of a busy organization managing priorities, connecting people, coordinating important events, handling confidential information, and helping ministry initiatives move forward. What Makes This Role Unique? This position goes well beyond traditional executive support.You will:
Manage a complex executive calendar, meetings, travel, correspondence, and daily priorities. Serve as a key liaison between the Episcopal Office, clergy, local churches, districts, Conference ministries, and denominational partners. Coordinate Cabinet meetings, clergy gatherings, retreats, workshops, Annual Conference activities, and other significant events. Provide Executive support to the Assistant to the Bishop and Chief of Staff . Provide administrative support for the Board of Ordained Ministry, including confidential clergy credentialing records, candidate tracking, meetings, communications, and clergy documentation. Support Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM) grant-funded initiatives, including financial records, grant documentation, reporting, communications, and events. Prepare polished correspondence, presentations, agendas, reports, and meeting materials. Welcome visitors and respond to inquiries with professionalism, warmth, discretion, and sound judgment. What You Bring We're looking for a professional who is: Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. An excellent communicator and skilled proofreader. Comfortable handling highly confidential and sensitive information. Resourceful, adaptable, and confident working independently. Experienced in executive-level administrative support and project coordination. Proficient in Microsoft 365, virtual meeting platforms, office technology, and the ability to learn new software. Committed to providing exceptional service and building positive relationships.Minimum qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and at least five years of progressively responsible executive administrative support experience. Experience supporting executive leaders, boards, committees, nonprofit organizations, or faith-based organizations is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is a plus.
