This position will support the preparation, tracking, processing, and management of subpoenas for business and medical records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining practical experience in a professional legal environment while developing a strong understanding of the subpoena and records retrieval process. Responsibilities The Business Records Subpoena Assistant will assist with: Preparing and processing subpoenas for business, medical, employment, and other records Tracking outstanding subpoenas and monitoring response deadlines Following up with records custodians, medical providers, businesses, and other entities regarding outstanding requests Receiving, organizing, and maintaining subpoenaed records Maintaining accurate records of subpoena status, correspondence, and responses Reviewing incoming records to confirm completeness and identifying missing or outstanding materials Assisting with authorization forms, notices, proofs of service, and related subpoena documentation Communicating professionally with attorneys, staff, records custodians, copy services, and third-party providers Handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with applicable California and federal privacy, information security, and medical data requirements Maintaining organized electronic and physical files Providing additional administrative and litigation-support assistance as needed Qualifications We are looking for a candidate who is: Highly organized and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy Task-focused and able to follow projects through completion Able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information A strong written and verbal communicator Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Comfortable learning new legal and records-management systems Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Prior experience with subpoenas, medical records, legal records, litigation support, or a law firm is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate. Compensation $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
