Job Description
Join us as a seasonal worker and become an integral part of the City's Special Census efforts to ensure an accurate population count. A Special Census allows for data collection to inform local planning, resource allocation, and eligibility for state or federal funding.

As a Special Census seasonal worker, you will have the opportunity to: Conduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods to distribute census materials and engage with residents. Engage with residents and distribute census materials at local businesses and community meetings. Address concerns or misconceptions about the census and provide accurate information to the public. Help organize and attend community events, workshops, and information sessions to educate the public about the census. Foster positive relationships with the community to encourage participation.

Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Commitment to upholding confidentiality and privacy standards. Proficiency in Spanish language is preferred but not mandatory. Must be able to meet physical demands of walking outside for extended periods of time. The prospective applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The role requires a valid driver's license to participate in field work. Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check. This is a seasonal position. The hourly wage is $20.05/hr - $23.92hr depending on qualifications and experience. The duration of the position is early May 2026 through mid September 2026.
