Who We Are:
At the Children's Advocacy Center of Central Texas, we're more than a team—we're a movement. We work with law enforcement, CPS, and community partners to bring healing, hope, and justice to child victims of abuse. If you're passionate about making a difference, we want to meet you. About theRole:
The Forensic Interviewer is a key player in our multidisciplinary team. You'll conduct child-friendly, legally-sound interviews with children who have experienced trauma. Your work helps ensure that children are heard.What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience or training in child development, psychology, or social work (preferred).
- Background in coordinating services for child victims and families (preferred).
- Ability to pass extensive criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and sex offender registry.
- We'll train the right person if you are not an experienced forensic interviewer.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct sensitive, recorded interviews with children (ages 3-17) and vulnerable adults.
- Create a safe, supportive space for victims to share their stories.
- Collaborate closely with law enforcement, CPS, and our MDT partners.
- Enter case information into our secure database system.
- Testify in court when needed—your voice matters.
- Attend case reviews, contribute insight, and advocate for kids.
- Stay current on best practices through training and peer reviews.
- Be part of our on-call rotation (after-hours, weekends, holidays).
- Cross-train in family advocacy if needed—because teamwork matters.
- Assist with outreach presentations and community education.
- Pitch in at fundraisers and awareness events.
- Represent CACCT with professionalism and passion wherever you go.
Your Superpowers Include:
- Deep understanding of child abuse and trauma.
- Cross-cultural awareness and experience with diverse communities.
- Comfort working with children and families in crisis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to stay calm and focused in high-stress situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a huge plus!
