Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Mullen & Henzell L.L.P., voted "Best Law Firm" in the Santa Barbara Independent Readers' Poll, is seeking an experienced legal assistant with high profile Civil Litigation experience to join our team. Our Civil Litigation practice includes general civil litigation, business, real estate, contract, tort, insurance, and probate litigation. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic firm that values collaboration, professional growth, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive civil litigation while assisting multiple attorneys. Draft, edit, and format legal documents with precision while assisting with various civil litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and other related documents. Assist with hearings, trials, and depositions. Conduct legal research on various issues, laws, and regulations. Partner with attorneys to interface with clients to further objectives of litigation. Maintain client confidentiality and ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards. Manage and organize client files (physical and electronic), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Manage state and federal court filings with knowledge of court systems. Maintain attorneys' calendars across two platforms, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments. Proactively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Typing speed of 60+ WPM. Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-up skills, and a proactive approach. Not only do you enjoy multi-tasking, but you also excel at staying organized; as a result, you adapt to last-minute changes with both ease and confidence. Self-motivation, a positive attitude, and minimal need for supervision. Excellent phone skills. Minimum of five years' experience with litigation processes. This includes court filings, and deadlines. Experience working in large firm settings is desired.
