The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across various practice areas, ensuring the smooth operation of daily office functions and case management. Duties The legal assistant acts as the legal secretary for assigned attorneys, formatting, finalizing, typing, and filing documents. Duties include preparing letters and legal documents from drafts, filing pleadings and motions with appropriate tribunals, serving or arranging service of legal documents, and maintaining attorney case files. The legal assistant prepares subpoenas, discovery requests, schedules hearings, trials, depositions, and arranges facilities as directed. Responsibilities also include retaining and scheduling court reporters, obtaining transcripts, performing general secretarial duties such as phone calls and travel arrangements, entering information in legal tracking systems, Oculus, closing case files, and supporting office management as needed. Requirements Candidates must possess a high school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree. Applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of legal secretarial experience. This professional experience may be considered as a substitute for the years of education required. Paralegal experience preferred; knowledge of procedural law and litigation processes essential. Proficiency in legal research tools Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; professional phone etiquette required. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in document processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal writing standards. Strong research skills combined with attention to detail for thorough case preparation. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
