Job Description

Central Staff Legal Secretary The Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal seeks an experienced individual for the position of Central Staff Legal Secretary. The position requires support to attorneys engaged in the processing of writs and appeals for the Court and/or in the preparation of cases and legal memoranda. The candidate must have excellent organizational and computer skills (particularly in Microsoft Office Word). The candidate must also have good interpersonal and secretarial skills. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Knowledge of legal terminology, court system practices, forms and procedures, and strong editing skills are required. The ideal candidate will have experience with Westlaw. The starting salary range is $42,304 to $51,389, depending on experience.
