Job Description

Job Overview The Johnson Law Firm is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our team. This position is a great fit for someone organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and who enjoys working with both people and paperwork. One of our support staff members recently returned to school full-time, and now we have an opportunity to welcome someone new to the team. While experience in a legal office is helpful, we're most interested in someone willing to learn, who takes pride in their work, and who can be relied upon to keep things moving. As a Legal Secretary, you'll work closely with our attorneys and staff, assist with client communication, maintain case files, prepare and organize documents, and support the day-to-day tasks that keep our office running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls professionally and courteously. Take accurate messages and communicate information promptly to attorneys and staff. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures. File, locate, and retrieve documents for court proceedings and client matters. Prepare, format, scan, copy, and organize legal and administrative documents. Assist with new client intake, including collecting and tracking client and case information. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; legal, administrative, or paralegal training is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional telephone etiquette. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic file management systems. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Dependable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle confidential client and legal information with discretion. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Additional Benefits Downtown paid off-street parking valued at $90.00 per month. $250 monthly employer contribution toward the employee's chosen health insurance plan.
