Description A boutique law firm in downtown San Francisco is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to provide temporary support to three attorneys handling an active employment litigation caseload, including PAGA and class action matters. While the primary need is litigation calendaring and deadline management using PracticeMaster, the firm can provide training on the software, but the successful candidate must bring hands-on California litigation calendaring and filing experience. This is an urgent contract need, anticipated through the end of 2026, and we are looking for candidates who can commit to the hybrid schedule (2 days remote/3 days onsite) and can start as soon as Monday, 9/28. Responsibilities
+ Maintain calendars for three attorneys and track litigation deadlines across active matters
+ Enter, monitor, and update deadlines based on case activity and attorney instructions
+ Prepare, coordinate, and complete electronic filings in California state courts
+ Review filing materials for accuracy, formatting, and compliance with applicable court requirements
+ Coordinate service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and other case documents
+ Secure court reporters and coordinate related litigation services
+ Prepare, format, proofread, and revise pleadings, correspondence, discovery documents, and other legal materials
+ Maintain organized electronic matter files in NetDocuments
+ Communicate proactively with attorneys regarding upcoming deadlines, filing requirements, and scheduling priorities
+ Provide general legal secretarial and administrative support while managing competing priorities across three attorney desks Requirements + 5+ years of litigation legal secretary or legal assistant experience
+ Strong hands-on experience with California litigation calendaring and deadline management
+ Experience entering, maintaining, and tracking litigation deadlines
+ Proficiency with California state court filing and e-filing procedures
+ Ability to support multiple attorneys and independently manage competing deadlines
+ Strong document formatting, proofreading, organizational, and follow-through skills
+ Experience securing court reporters, coordinating service, and supporting other litigation logistics
+ Employment litigation, PAGA, wage-and-hour, or class action experience preferred
+ Experience with NetDocuments preferred
+ Previous experience using PracticeMaster for calendaring and ADP for timekeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
