Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary with mandatory civil litigation experience to support a high-volume, fast-paced litigation practice. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple active cases, strict court deadlines, and a demanding workload with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. Only applicants with prior civil litigation experience will be considered. Applicants must be excellent typists. Highly competitive starting salary for the right candidate with substantial year end bonus opportunities based on performance. You would have your own office with a window and be working for only one lawyer. No medical benefits. This is not a paralegal position.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, format, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other civil litigation documents Manage attorney emails, calendars, court deadlines, hearings, and trial settings Prepare and file documents with courts, including electronic filing, in compliance with court rules and procedures Track and calculate litigation deadlines with precision Communicate with courts, court staff, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors Organize and maintain detailed electronic and physical case files Process incoming and outgoing mail and service documents Perform administrative tasks necessary to support a busy litigation docket
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a civil litigation law firm Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven litigation environment Strong working knowledge of court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines Excellent typing skills with speed and exceptional accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising quality or deadlines Strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal filing systems Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
Experience with electronic filing systems Experience supporting multiple attorneys
