Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys by managing administrative tasks, answering the phone, assisting with walk-ins, and assisting with the preparation of legal documents. This position requires a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures, particularly in criminal law. Responsibilities Provide administrative support to attorneys. Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with attention to detail. Manage case files, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date. Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain client records. Communicate with law enforcement, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters to gather information and provide updates. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls with professionalism Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines for filing documents. Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems. Perform general administrative duties including copying, scanning, answering the phones and data entry Answer the phone in a friendly and professional manner Qualifications Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar administrative role in a law office Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of discretion and confidentiality Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in legal administrative tasks with experience in legal drafting preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment is preferred but not mandatory.
