The ideal candidate will be responsible for working closely withe Operations Director for end-to-end RCM, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and full claim adjudications. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment. Responsibilities Accurately process medical billing claims using appropriate coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9. Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes. Utilize knowledge and experience for claims appeals and disputes to facilitate proper billing practices, and collections. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information. Resolve billing issues by investigating claims denials and working with insurance companies for re-submissions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations Keep detailed records of all billing transactions and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Collaborate with the medical office team to improve billing processes and enhance overall efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in Ophthalmology medical billing and coding is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9) methodologies. Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus. Preferrable with Modernizing Medicine, via RCM outsourced solution. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives. Certification in medical coding or billing is an advantage but not mandatory.
