Full Job Description Pay:
$52,000 per year. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced medical biller (however, non-experienced medical billers are welcome to apply) to join our billing team at our office in either Fullerton, Orange County. This person will work under the supervision of our finance and medical billing team to handle billing and collections of medical claims for clinic and surgical claim. This person will also be expected to communicate with payers and patients on matters related to claims, including obtaining authorizations, and to serve as a resource for other staff members.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit claims to various payers, including but not limited to, governmental agencies and insurance companies
  • Identify and resolve coding errors and denials, and resubmit claims to payers accordingly
  • Use critical thinking to research billing processes
  • Analyze documentation and resolve billing issues appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all confidentiality policies and procedures and carry out all tasks in a pleasant and respectful manner
  • Perform payment posting, reconciliation, and review of all accounts to ensure timely collection and accuracy
Preferred Skills and Training:
  • Two (2) years of experience as a medical biller
  • At least one certification from a recognized medical billing or coding program
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, including applicable CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Knowledge of outpatient billing, particularly in orthopedics
  • Experience and knowledge in Medicare, California State Medi-Cal, and other medical/health insurance reimbursement principals
