"Total satisfaction for every special occasion." Position Summary We are seeking experienced Event Chefs for seasonal, on-call work through December. This is a hands-on culinary position supporting weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations at off-site venues throughout Orange County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles. Event Chefs prepare, finish, and present food for buffet and plated catering service and may operate guest-facing action stations, including omelet, carving, and other made-to-order stations. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong culinary skills, and close attention to food quality and presentation. Evening and weekend availability is required. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, finish, and plate menu items according to company recipes, portions, and presentation standards. Execute buffet, plated, and chef-attended action station service. Maintain consistent standards for taste, temperature, freshness, portioning, and appearance. Review event menus, timelines, dietary needs, and assigned culinary responsibilities. Coordinate with culinary leaders, event captains, and front-of-house staff to support timely service. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout setup, service, and breakdown. Follow all food safety, allergen-awareness, sanitation, and safe food-transportation requirements. Represent Colette's professionally when interacting with clients, guests, venue partners, and fellow team members. Assist with event setup, breakdown, packing, and equipment handling as assigned. Qualifications At least three years of professional cooking experience preferred. Catering, banquet, hotel, restaurant, or high-volume event experience strongly preferred. Experience with plated meals, buffets, and guest-facing action stations. Strong knife skills and knowledge of professional cooking techniques. Ability to follow recipes, production instructions, event timelines, and plating specifications. Professional appearance and calm, collaborative approach in fast-paced environments. Current California Food Handler Card or recognized food safety certification. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to event locations throughout Orange County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays through December. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, carry equipment, and work in indoor and outdoor event environments. Ability to perform safely in temporary and off-site kitchen setups. This is a seasonal, part-time, on-call position.
