Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments for medical services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients in a timely manner. Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and medical records to ensure accuracy in billing. Utilize ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to accurately code diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes. Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and communicating with patients regarding their accounts. Maintain organized records of all billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing or coding. Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies that may affect billing practices. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a medical office setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9). Familiarity with Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) and their application in the billing process is a plus. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for reviewing complex billing information. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
