We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume medical practice, enjoys being on the phone, and has a strong background in insurance verification and medical billing. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a busy workload, communicating with insurance companies and patients throughout the day, and maintaining accuracy while handling multiple priorities. This is a full-time, in-person position requiring reliable attendance Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. About RMIDS Rocky Mountain Infectious Disease Specialists is a private specialty medical practice providing comprehensive infectious disease care throughout the Denver metro area. With nine physicians and three locations, we are committed to delivering high-quality, timely, and compassionate care to our patients. Our services include infectious disease consultations, infusion therapy, diagnostic and therapeutic services, pharmaceutical compounding, laboratory services, and PICC line placement. As our practice continues to grow, we are expanding our Insurance Verification Department and looking for an experienced team member who can keep up with the demands of a busy specialty practice while providing excellent patient service. Key Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, referrals, and prior authorization requirements accurately and efficiently. Make and receive a high volume of phone calls with insurance companies, patients, and referring providers. Obtain detailed benefit information, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket expenses, and coverage limitations. Review CPT and ICD-10 codes to ensure accurate insurance verification, billing, and authorization requirements. Apply medical billing and coding knowledge to identify potential coverage issues and prevent claim denials. Communicate with insurance representatives to resolve eligibility discrepancies, coverage questions, and billing-related concerns. Maintain accurate documentation of insurance verification activities, authorization requirements, and patient account information. Manage a high volume of patient accounts while meeting daily deadlines and maintaining attention to detail. Work closely with scheduling, billing, clinical staff, and providers to ensure patients receive timely care. Assist with resolving insurance-related issues that may delay patient appointments, treatments, or infusion services. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of insurance verification experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting. Previous medical billing experience, including a working knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and medical coding practices. Experience working in a high-volume medical office with the ability to manage multiple patient accounts and competing priorities. Strong knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefits verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and payer requirements. Comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday on the phone with insurance companies, patients, and providers. Excellent phone etiquette, communication skills, and customer service. Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple software systems simultaneously. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a team environment. Dependable attendance and the ability to consistently work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a high-volume specialty medical practice. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans. Familiarity with infectious disease, infusion therapy, or specialty medication authorization processes. Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing procedures. Takes ownership of their responsibilities, follows through on outstanding issues, and works proactively to resolve problems. Brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support their teammates.
Pay:
$23.00 - $24.50 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
