Summary of Responsibilities :

We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our growing outpatient psychiatric practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of behavioral health billing, insurance verification, claims management, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement while supporting our mission of providing high-quality mental health care. The Medical Biller will work closely with providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to maximize collections, maintain compliance, and resolve billing issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Submit and monitor electronic claims for psychiatric and mental health services Assist with verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility Review, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims Perform accounts receivable follow-up and collection activities Post insurance and patient payments accurately Work with providers to ensure documentation supports billing requirements Understand and apply CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines related to behavioral health services Assist with prior authorizations and referrals as needed Reconcile billing reports and identify revenue cycle trends Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing and payment questions Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information Assist with month-end reporting and other revenue cycle management functions

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing Experience with claim denial management and appeals Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and behavioral health coding guidelines Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Attributes:

Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification or comparable credential Experience establishing and maintaining provider credentialling with payers 2 years of behavioral health, psychiatry, psychology, or mental health billing experience Experience with outpatient psychiatric group practices.

Job Schedule:

Full-time preferred Monday through Friday Remote or hybrid options may be available for qualified candidates
