Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance claims management. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining comprehensive medical records to support efficient billing operations. Responsibilities Review and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical documentation for accuracy before submitting claims. Utilize billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to process claims efficiently. Code medical procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards to ensure precise billing. Manage healthcare claims submissions and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize collections. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, adjustments, and correspondence with insurance providers. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary for accurate coding. Stay current with healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and updates in medical coding standards to ensure compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing with familiarity in
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, healthcare claims management, and medical collections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with experience using billing software and EMR/EHR systems. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations. Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is preferred. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and insurance companies. Knowledge of medical coding practices including ICD coding updates and DRG classifications is highly desirable.
