Heide's Compression and Mastectomy helps patients manage lymphatic and vascular conditions, swelling, burns, and other medical needs using specialized compression garments. We measure each patient and design garments around their unique body, condition, lifestyle, and medical needs. You may have never heard of lymphedema, lipedema, or custom medical compression garments and that's okay, we provide comprehensive, hands-on training. The garments are manufactured by specialty companies but our fitters determine how each garment should be designed. It is detailed, creative, highly personalized work and seeing the improvement in a patient's comfort, mobility, and quality of life is incredibly rewarding. If you already have experience with lymphedema, lipedema, compression therapy, durable medical equipment, or health insurance, you'll have a helpful head start. If you don't, we are prepared to teach the right person everything they need to know. What You'll Do Here As a Custom Compression Garment Fitter, you will: Meet one-on-one with patients to understand their conditions, concerns, and goals Take detailed measurements and fit patients for compression stockings, sleeves, and other specialized medical garments Help patients choose products and garment options that best meet their medical and lifestyle needs Design and order custom-made garments using manufacturer specifications Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, and anticipated out-of-pocket costs Help verify insurance benefits, prior authorizations, and claim status Work with clinics to obtain prescriptions, medical records, and other required documentation Call and fax healthcare providers when additional information is needed Track incoming orders and communicate with patients, providers, coworkers, and supervisors Build lasting relationships with patients and referral sources Advocate for patients and their right to receive medically necessary supplies Who Will Be Successful Here?
