Ophthalmology experience a plus!! M-F 8:30AM-5PM. Excellent benefit package available. Medical/Dental/401K Salary based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Follow-Up:

Call and correspond with commercial and government payers (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers) regarding unpaid or denied claims.

A/R Management:

Review aging reports and prioritize accounts for maximum cash recovery.

Denial Resolution:

Investigate claim denials, file appeals, and correct billing errors (such as missing modifiers or incorrect ID numbers).

Patient Communication:

Handle patient billing inquiries, explain statements in plain language, and set up compliant payment plans.

Compliance:

Ensure all collection and communication activities strictly adhere to HIPAA and FDCPA guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum [1-3] years of experience in medical billing, medical collections, or healthcare revenue cycle management.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and EOBs (Explanation of Benefits).

Software Skills:

Proficiency with Nextgen, SIS and Microsoft Excel preferred

Soft Skills:

Excellent phone etiquette, active listening, and a polite, professional, and empathetic approach.
