Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dental Financial/Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dental insurance processes, medical billing, and coding procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of patient accounts and insurance claims. This role is pivotal in optimizing revenue cycle management, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining seamless communication between patients, insurance providers, and the dental team. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in healthcare claims management, medical coding, and dental billing software, contributing to a smooth operational workflow. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of dental insurance verification, including eligibility checks and benefit investigations to ensure accurate coverage information for patients. Process dental claims efficiently using billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding. Review and correct claim denials or rejections promptly to facilitate timely reimbursements. Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, including documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and billing information in accordance with healthcare regulations. Communicate effectively with insurance companies to follow up on outstanding claims and resolve discrepancies or issues related to healthcare claims management. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining insurance benefits to patients and assisting with financial arrangements or payment plans. Stay current with changes in health insurance policies, medical terminology, and billing regulations to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes. Requirements Proven experience in dental billing, Dental coding , and healthcare claims management within a dental office setting. Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical collection procedures. Proficiency in Dentrix software, Microsoft Office applications along with experience using billing software, EMR/EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Familiarity with dental-specific coding standards and billing practices is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple accounts simultaneously. Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with insurance providers, patients, and team members. Willing to fill in for other dental front desk duties of answering phones, booking appointments, patient related matters.
