Job Description
Position Summary Compile information on accounts to send bills to the insurance company for payment Position Accountabilities Performs various clerical duties to expedite the billing process, including recording patient identification data, modifiers and physician diagnosis. Analyzes billing date to ascertain the accuracy of the account information. Bills primary and secondary appropriate Insurance carriers, both electronic and hard copy claims. Makes written and/or verbal inquiries to third party payers to reconcile patient accounts. Evaluates the accuracy of third payments. Investigates and corrects any claims for maximum reimbursement. Maintains up-to-date patient accounts. Communicates with supervisors to ensure all denials are captured. Answers calls and correspondence on related accounts. Evaluates and follows-up on daily incoming mail. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
