•We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & A/R Representative to join a fantastic team in Tulsa, OK. This position is responsible for managing medical accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, unpaid and denied claims, payment discrepancies, and outstanding patient/insurance balances. The ideal candidate understands the medical billing process and is comfortable working aging A/R reports, contacting insurance companies, researching claims, and resolving issues to ensure timely reimbursement. We are looking for someone with hands-on medical billing experience in a healthcare setting such as a physician's office, specialty clinic, hospital, orthopedic practice, or other medical facility.

IMPORTANT

This is a medical billing position. Applicants whose experience is primarily in auto insurance, property & casualty insurance, insurance sales, or insurance adjusting will not be considered unless they also have direct medical billing experience. Key Responsibilities Manage and follow up on assigned medical accounts receivable (A/R) Review and work aging A/R reports Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding and unpaid claims Research claim status and determine reasons for delayed or denied payments Identify and resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and billing errors Review EOBs and ERAs for accuracy Post and reconcile insurance payments and adjustments as needed Submit corrected claims and assist with appeals when appropriate Verify that claims contain the necessary information and documentation for payment Follow up on outstanding balances in a timely and organized manner Communicate with insurance representatives regarding claim resolution Maintain detailed and accurate notes regarding account activity Work closely with internal billing and healthcare staff to resolve account issues Identify recurring billing or reimbursement problems Maintain confidentiality of patient and account information Meet established productivity, accuracy, and follow-up expectations Qualifications Previous medical billing and accounts receivable experience Healthcare/medical office billing experience strongly preferred Experience working directly with insurance claims and insurance follow-up Knowledge of the medical billing and reimbursement process Understanding of EOBs, ERAs, claim denials, corrected claims, and appeals Experience working aging A/R Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple accounts Professional and persistent approach to insurance follow-up Experience with an EHR, practice management system, or medical billing software preferred Candidates with experience in orthopedics, physician practices, specialty clinics, hospital billing, surgical billing, or other healthcare environments are encouraged to apply.
