Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Biller to join their hospital billing team. The primary responsibilities include managing claim edits, handling claim rejections, and preparing corrected and voided claims. The ideal candidate will focus exclusively on billing responsibilities and is expected to have a strong background in hospital billing, particularly with Medicaid and other commercial payers. Key Responsibilities Work the daily hospital billing claim-edit alpha split within Epic. Review and resolve claim edits throughout the day. Complete late-charge rebills. Address claim rejections. Process claims returned by the collections team that require rebilling. Prepare corrected and voided claims. Work claims across multiple locations and payer types. Handle Medicaid and Medicaid-managed care claims from multiple states. Work out-of-state Blue Cross plans, Tricare, and other commercial payers. Manage limited Medicare claims as the organization is a children's hospital. Focus exclusively on billing responsibilities. Qualifications Three to five years of hospital billing experience preferred. Recent Epic hospital billing experience is required. Experience working hospital claim edits. Experience with corrected claims, voided claims, claim rejections, and late-charge rebills. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment. Ability to begin contributing quickly with minimal ramp-up time. Experience from a hospital or third-party revenue cycle company supporting hospital clients. Experience Three to five years of hospital billing experience preferred with recent Epic hospital billing experience required. Experience may originate from a hospital or a third-party revenue cycle company supporting hospital clients. Skills Technical skills in Epic hospital billing Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage billing-related follow-up queues.
