Position Details:
40 hours/week in person with hybrid work options after a probationary period. Must be local to San Diego County for in office workdays.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 2 years medical billing experience preferred Experience with practice management/EHR systems Computer skills are a must with emphasis on Microsoft word/excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro (We strive to be as paperless as possible) Spanish speaking a plus
AAPC Certification:
CPB or CPC a plus Familiarity with PM systems such as CollaborateMD, Nextech, EZDERM, OA, ModMed, DrChrono, EPIC a plus
Job Description:
Medical biller responsibilities will include any of the following: Review medical claims for accuracy according to CPT, ICD-10 and payer guidelines Submit clean medical claims electronically and on paper Work with medical offices to resolve documentation errors/missing information Sort and post incoming patient and insurance payments to accounts Create and bill patient responsibility statements Review monthly A/R reports for missing payments, missed denials and follow up. Correspond with all types of insurance carriers Answer incoming phone calls from patients and/or medical offices Must have: Prior medical billing and or coding experience Knowledge of insurance billing including PPO, HMO, Capitation, Worker's Comp and Government insurance including Medicare, Tricare and Veterans. Data entry with high level of accuracy Ability to multitask. Ability to work independently to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly deadlines. Exceptional customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft office, specifically Word and Excel Proficiency in 10-key
