Job Summary Legacy Medical Group is a growing medical practice in Rochester Hills MI, specializing in geriatric patient care providing on sight medical care at local Senior living facilities. We are seeking a self-motivated, full-time, experienced medical billing specialist; that aspires to be a part of our expanding company. As a member of our team, you will be a fundamental part of our success.
Overview:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing and payment data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical collection best practices to minimize accounts receivable
- Direct patient communication to manage and minimize cash aging
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
- Experience with medical records, E&M coding, and medical office procedures
- Strong understanding of medical collection processes
- Familiarity with various medical coding software applications
