This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), interpret complex medical documentation, and facilitate seamless revenue cycle management. Your expertise will directly impact the organization's ability to deliver quality care while maintaining compliance with industry standards. We are seeking motivated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about accuracy, detail, and healthcare finance. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes based on established coding guidelines for inpatient and outpatient services. Ensure all medical coding aligns with current regulations, including ICD coding standards and medical terminology. Prepare and submit accurate health insurance claims using billing software and electronic health record (EHR/EHR) systems to facilitate timely reimbursements. Verify insurance coverage, process third-party billing, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to optimize revenue cycle management. Maintain detailed documentation of coded records, billing transactions, and correspondence related to insurance claims for audit purposes. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and ensure precise coding for medical records. Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, including ICD-10 updates, DRG classifications, and health insurance claim processing requirements. Skills Strong knowledge of
ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT
coding systems, and DRG classifications for accurate reimbursement. Proficiency with billing software platforms and electronic health record (EHR/EHR) management tools. In-depth understanding of medical terminology, medical records review, and healthcare documentation standards. Familiarity with health insurance policies, claim submission procedures, and third-party billing processes. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical data accurately. Experience in revenue cycle management, including insurance claim processing and follow-up procedures. Ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with coding guidelines for inpatient services and outpatient procedures.
