Job Description

Overview The Restitution/Fine Assistant is responsible for the collection and management of Circuit Court fines, court costs, restitution, and related fees for the County. Duties include receiving and processing payments, monitoring delinquent accounts, preparing petitions for arrest warrants, and coordinating restitution payments to victims. This position maintains accurate financial records, prepares reports, communicates regularly with defendants and victims, and ensures compliance with applicable State and County policies and procedures. The Restitution/Fine Assistant also provides backup support for other financial functions as needed. Responsibilities Maintains accurate financial, payment, restitution, and case records. Receives, processes, and records payments for fines, court costs, restitution, and related fees. Monitors delinquent accounts and prepares necessary documentation, including petitions for arrest warrants. Conducts research and investigations related to restitution and case financial matters. Communicates with defendants, victims, court personnel, and other agencies and testifies in court when required. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of one year of college education or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience. Proficiency in computer applications, data entry, and office software. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial, legal, and procedural documents. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work professionally with defendants, victims, court personnel, and the public. Pay:
$34,063.00 - $37,017.00 per year
