The candidate must be able to work independently and interface with a diverse group of people, including elected officials, courthouse staff, other law offices, law enforcement, probation and parole, and citizens. The candidate must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the workplace. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Manage a criminal prosecution assistant caseload, including without limitation efficiently processing legal documents, criminal complaints, reports, and citations from law enforcement agencies; Maintain and organize case files electronically; Receive, screen, and route incoming telephone calls and visiting members of the public; Communicate and interact with a diverse group of people, including elected officials, courthouse staff, legal offices, law enforcement, probation and parole, and citizens; Follow directions from attorneys on individually assigned tasks and report back as needed; and Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; and Must submit to and pass a drug test and background check. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Applicants with fluency in the Spanish language strongly preferred; All-around understanding of Microsoft Word and Outlook email and calendaring; Preferred experience with Karpel case management software and technology generally; Good organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. May be required to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks. Travel between Jerome County departments and local business may be required.
