Job Description

Position Summary The Village of Fowlerville is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused individual to serve as a part-time Municipal Office Assistant. This position provides administrative and clerical support to Village staff while serving as a welcoming first point of contact for residents, businesses, visitors, and other members of the public. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a municipal office environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet visitors and provide courteous assistance at the front counter. Answer and route telephone calls, emails, and general public inquiries. Receive payments, issue receipts, and assist with routine billing or account questions. Provide residents with general information regarding Village services, forms, permits, meetings, and procedures. Perform data entry, filing, scanning, copying, mailing, and document preparation. Maintain organized paper and electronic records. Assist with processing applications, permits, licenses, and other municipal documents. Prepare correspondence, notices, reports, and informational materials. Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail. Support the Village Clerk, Treasurer, Manager, Administrative Assistant and other departments with administrative tasks. Assist with meeting packets, public notices, agendas, minutes, and records as assigned. Handle confidential or sensitive information with appropriate discretion. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-office area. Perform other related duties as assigned.
