28 hours per week; potential to become full-timePosition Overview:
The City Clerk's Office is seeking a detail‑oriented and professional Part-Time Deputy City Clerk. This position assists with vital records, licensing, elections support, and general public inquiries. The role also includes routine administrative duties and may serve as Acting City Clerk during absences, including attending meetings as needed. Knowledge of QVF, BS&A, and elections is preferred but not required. Ability to obtain Notary Public certification is required.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage vital records, licenses, and official documents Provide courteous and effective customer service to residents Support daily office operations (phones, filing, administrative tasks) Ensure compliance with state and local laws related to records, licensing, and elections Perform accurate data entry and manage information in various systems Assist with financial recordkeeping, fee processing, and budgeting tasks Provide guidance and training to staff and volunteers when needed Utilize office software and specialized applications efficientlyMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate Degree preferred Relevant experience may substitute for education 2-5 years of experience in a municipal clerk's office, records management, or local government administration preferred.Desired Skills:
