Job Description
Summary :
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at RGH provides expert clinical care for critically ill patients. The APP will work in collaboration with ICU physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing staff, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive care. This role focuses on patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of interventions, along with continuous monitoring of patient progress in a high-acuity environment.Status:

Rotating Days / Weekends / Limited Nights What Sets This Role Apart High level of clinical autonomy and decision-making Extensive procedural opportunities Collaborative multidisciplinary environment Rotations through: Medical ICU Procedure Service (ICU consults, line placement, IV access) Pulmonary Consult Service (tracheostomy and ventilator management) Key Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the ICU team Manage ventilators, vasoactive medications, and advanced ICU therapies Perform bedside procedures as credentialed Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care planning Educate patients, families, and clinical team members Preferred Skills & Experience 3 years working as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred ICU/Critical Care or Hospital Medicine experience preferredSkills :
Proficiency preferred in invasive procedures commonly performed in the ICU including Central Venous Catheter and Arterial Catheter placement, Hemodialysis Catheter Placement, Ventilator Management, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Lumbar Puncture, Chest Tube placement, and Endotracheal Intubation is a plus. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.OFFERINGS
