The Culture and Heritage Commission (Commission) is York County's appointed governing board for the Culture & Heritage Museums (CHM), the entity that operates York County-owned cultural resources. The Commission carries out its governance responsibilities through a Director, hired to manage the operations of CHM and its professional staff. The Commission's role is critical in providing oversight and guidance as we plan for the future, manage the present and honor the past. Our board is a York County Commission comprised of 7 Commissioners who are appointed by the County Council and who volunteer their time, expertise and energy to guide this organization.

Culture and Heritage Museum is excited to hire a part-time (28 hours weekly) Museum Visitor Services Associate. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service support for the museum and store, ensuring effective and efficient office operations and compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of safety and quality. Projected Hiring Range/Pay Grade 106: $16.14 per hour. Salary is determined based on experience and/or education.

Work Schedule:

28 hour a week part-time position with shift to accommodate programming needs. Museum of York County hours of operation are: Tuesday

• Saturday 10 am
• 5 pm and Sunday 1 pm
• 5 pm.

Conferences Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets and assists visitors. Provides information and assistance to telephone callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel, takes messages, or relays information. Performs general administrative/clerical work as required, including but not limited to entering and retrieving computer data, processing daily mail, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, assembling materials, and maintaining lists and logs, etc. Operates the museum store and assists with stocking and ordering inventory. Completes a daily report of all sales activity. Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Graduation or GED equivalent. One (1) year of customer service, clerical or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Certifications and Licenses:

First Aid and CPR certifications preferred. Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
