Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Garnishment Assistant to join our legal support team. In this vital role, you will assist with the processing and management of wage garnishments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Your proactive approach will help streamline garnishment procedures, support legal teams, and maintain accurate documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient legal operations while developing expertise in various areas of law and legal case management. Responsibilities Manage the intake and review of garnishment orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness Coordinate with payroll departments to facilitate timely wage deductions in accordance with court directives Maintain detailed records of garnishment cases using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw Conduct research on relevant laws including UCC law, family law, and workers' compensation law to ensure compliance Assist in preparing legal documents, correspondence, and reports related to garnishment cases Support legal teams by reviewing case files, proofreading documents, and handling confidential information securely Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and internal departments to provide updates and gather necessary information Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently using organizational tools and project management techniques Experience Prior experience supporting legal or administrative functions within a law office or legal environment is preferred Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Lawline is advantageous Demonstrated knowledge of procedural law, civil litigation support, and document review processes Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with document management systems like iManage or equivalent software Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal collaboration Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism Paralegal experience or background in estate planning, environmental law, or related fields is a plus This role is ideal for candidates eager to develop their expertise in legal support functions while contributing to a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in legal administration.
Pay:
$34.00 - $40.00 per hour
