Job Description
The Cherokee County Clerk's Office has an opening for Deputy Clerk. This is an entry level, full time position in Rusk, Texas. This position will assist the general public, customers and other agencies in recording, filing and obtaining legal documents and records. Essential Functions of the Job
- Answers phones
- Greets customers
- Prints daily reports
- Picks up and delivers mail
- Issues citations
- Bookkeeping
- Enters information into computer
- Signs various documents
- General typing and word processing
- Maintains birth and death records
- Issues birth certificates, death certificate and marriage licenses, DD-214s
- Record and maintain cattle brands
- Input, scan, file and maintain land records
- Research records
- Cashier duties, accepting payments Additional duties and responsibilities
- Additional duties as directed by supervisor
- Process and maintain case management files
- Copies documents
- Pick up and deliver mail to Post Office Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform the Essential Functions
- Knowledge of operation of copier and scanner
- Knowledge of filing
- Knowledge of basic computer data entry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform cash transactions
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of software
- Time management and strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills Work Environment Work will be performed indoors with low to mid-level noise level.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move up to 50 pounds, able to remain upright for extended periods of time and ability to move about the County Courthouse.Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
